Tony Hall, Convoy of Hope and Local Churches Provide Emergency Food

Updated: Apr 23

Food to stock the food pantries at ten Dayton area churches arrived Thursday, thanks to the efforts of Ambassador Tony Hall, Convoy of Hope and Christian Life Center. Ambassador Hall serves as the Special Adviser on Hunger for Convoy of Hope, a faith-based humanitarian organization. Ambassador Hall saw the need in the Dayton area and arranged for a semi-trailer to be delivered.

“This food is really needed now.  We had a significant problem with hunger before the virus hit, now it’s even worse. People who had never asked for help before are looking for a way to get food. For many, they are most comfortable receiving assistance through their churches,” said Ambassador Hall.

“And we’re going to help those people. Volunteers from Christian Life Center are taking food from the Convoy of Hope semi and delivering it to ten churches in the inner city of Dayton and in Trot wood where the need is greatest.  Their ministry is to serve the most vulnerable of their members and neighbors. They all have food pantries that will be restocked to meet the growing demand.”

In addition to food, Convoy of Hope delivered toilet paper, cleaning supplies and hygiene items, Christian Life Center and Meijer also donated food.  Food was also provided directly to neighbors in a drive-up, no contact distribution.

“I’m thankful to Convoy of Hope, Pastor Tharp, the churches he works with and all the volunteers. They are making a difference in Dayton” said Ambassador Hall.
