Update on $300 Extra SNAP For School Students

Updated: May 22

About 850,000 Ohio children who receive free or reduced-price meals at school will receive a $300 one-time benefit to buy food through the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program. The P-EBT benefits may be added to the Ohio Direction cards of families that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Families that do not receive SNAP benefits will be sent P-EBT cards with the one-time benefit added. No application is needed. Payments should be complete by the end of May.

While most of the SNAP program is run by the counties, this one-time payment is administered by the Ohio Job and Family Services office. If you have questions, contact them at Family_Assistance_Inquiries@jfs.ohio.gov or call 1-866-244-0071
