Miami Valley Meals Turns Two
Updated: Mar 23
Miami Valley Meals celebrates two years of feeding the hungry this week! MVM is chef-led organization that recovers donated food and transforms it into delicious chef-prepared meals. The meals are distributed through a network of partner agencies. MVM started in 2020 by a group of local chefs looking to help feed the community during the pandemic and has now grown into a vital part of the community's effort to feed the hungry. They started by preparing 100 meals a week and are now preparing 4000 meals a week. Despite the huge increase, their chef-prepared meals continue to be both nutritious and delicious.
Their good work earned high level recognition, winning the 2021 Not-For-Profit of the Year at the Dayton Business Journal awards and the Montgomery County Food Summit Community Partner Award. HHI is proud to have been there from the beginning, helping with organizational structure, identifying partners, connecting to major funding and more.
MVM is the perfect example of how community partners can work together to launch and sustain innovative projects that help those most in need. Thanks to the hardworking staff, board and volunteers at MVM for two amazing years! You really make a difference. If you would like to support their efforts, you can donate here. And be sure to follow them on Facebook!
